my ux journey
I'm Sandee, a UX designer with 3 years of experience designing meaningful digital experiences that empower people, help businesses grow, and create positive social impact. Most recently, I was part of the product team at Clara Technologies in London.
Before transitioning into UX, I studied Business Management at the University of Nottingham and worked for 3 years as a Client Advisor at Standard Chartered Bank in Hong Kong.
During the bank’s shift to digital, I saw many clients avoid online services due to poor UX. They often felt unsure or unsafe using the digital platform and would rather queue for hours at a branch. I felt helpless, but it sparked a question: What if digital services could feel just as human, secure, and intuitive as face-to-face ones?
That curiosity led me to discover UX design, a field where empathy, business insight, and creativity intersect to solve real-world problems. It felt like a calling. I’ve since dedicated myself to building user-centered products, most notably at Clara Technologies, where I spent 2.5 years crafting solutions that balanced user needs with business goals.
One idea that has stayed with me throughout this journey is something I once read:
Design creates culture.
Culture shapes values.
Values determine the future.

To me, this captures the deeper impact of UX—beyond usability or conversion rates, it’s about shaping the way people interact with the world. That’s the kind of design I strive to create.
